Safe, Secure Ordering, and FREE SHIPPING http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2008/02/05/safe-secure-ordering-and-free-shipping/ http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2008/02/05/safe-secure-ordering-and-free-shipping/#comments Tue, 05 Feb 2008 17:57:33 +0000 Arthur http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2008/02/05/safe-secure-ordering-and-free-shipping/ I think the title of this blog tells it all.  I really would like to take a minute to discuss ordering over the internet.  I know many skeptical people who do not like to order over the internet.  They are usually scared of someone hacking into their account, stealing their bank information, and losing all their money.  Many people shop online, but insist on calling their order in to avoid something happening, such as, the previously mentioned.  Our customers are considered the number one priority here, as every good business practice should be, and our staff of operators and web managers would be more than happy to assist.

We have a super secure website that uses yahoo security, plus our own.  The buyer, or any internet shopper or surfer, should also make sure they are not using an unsafe wireless connection while ordering and have proper security software (anti-spyware and anti-virus) installed in their computers, too.  If you are not sure what you have installed on your computer, you could call your manufacturer and they should be able to tell you.

Honestly, ordering online is no different than calling or sending a check.  Phone lines can cross and information can be shared, and there is no security or alerts against that.  Also, a check has personal bank account information, name, and address, which if it is lost, could be equally dangerous.  Ordering online is safe as long as the website you are ordering from is safe.  If you would like to review our security policy as well as Yahoo’s, click here.

Always-free-shipping.com prides itself on being there for the customer when they need it, if they need it.  We also will always offer you free shipping on our entire stock! If you have questions or concerns, you can contact us at customercare@always-free-shipping.com

Star Light, Star Bright – Energy Star, that is… http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/21/star-light-star-bright-energy-star-that-is/ http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/21/star-light-star-bright-energy-star-that-is/#comments Fri, 21 Dec 2007 17:21:13 +0000 Janet http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/21/star-light-star-bright-energy-star-that-is/ P510051L1.jpgNow that we’ve entered the darkest time of year, it seems appropriate to address the issue of lighting in our homes. We can all do our part to help our enviornment, by changing over standard incandescent lightbulbs, to CFL’s (Compact Fluorescent Lamps).

The U.S. Enviornmental Protection Agency & Department of Energy have created ENERGY STAR rating for products that meet government standards to save energy & help the enviornment.  When it comes to lighting, ”ENERGY STAR qualified bulbs use about 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer“.

At Always-Free-Shipping.com, we sell ENERGY STAR qualified CFL’s . We carry 4 different types of CFL bulbs to replace the most commonly used incandescent bulbs in  home settings. For a complete guide to energy efficient home lighting, check out: http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=cfls.pr_cfls”>ENERGY .

This official site explains everything you need to know about the enviornment and home lighting; best fixtures to change, lighting brightness options, energy and energy bill savings, and a whole lot more.

Have a BRIGHT, Happy, Healthy Holiday Season! I’ll be back again to blog with you in 2008!

Bathing Silverware Saves Time http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/07/bathing-silverware-saves-time/ http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/07/bathing-silverware-saves-time/#comments Fri, 07 Dec 2007 17:39:58 +0000 Janet http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/12/07/bathing-silverware-saves-time/ Last night I prepared for tonight’s family Chanukah dinner. I made latkes and applesauce, and then gave my tarnished silverware a hot bath… No really!

My grandmother used to clean her set of everyday silverware in a pot of boiling water with a large piece of aluminum foil, then she’d add lots of salt. I remember being amazed as a child, watching the tarnish transfer from the forks, spoon & knives right to the tin foil – it would actually turn black!

P008001L.jpgWe now have something better, and even easier…                       QwickSilver Metal Polishing Plate goes right into your sink. Add hot water, and about 1/4 cup of QwickSilver Activator, then the silver pieces. This is the same principle that my Grandmother used, but it cleans tarnish more thoroughly, and it leaves a polished shine. I inherited her silverware, and it looks better than ever!

QwickSilver works great for any silver pieces – bathe your gold too.  I use QwickSilver for jewelry. It’s a lot less tedious than trying to polish tiny chains and intricate pieces. When bathed items are rinsed & dry, simply spray them with Hagerty Polishing Spray for tarnish protection.

Happy Hannukah form my house to yours.

New York Times Top Pick! http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/11/30/new-york-times-top-pick/ http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/11/30/new-york-times-top-pick/#comments Fri, 30 Nov 2007 15:26:50 +0000 Janet http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/11/30/new-york-times-top-pick/ Tis’ the season for celebrating – that means cooking & baking ahead of time, and having yummy leftovers afterwards. In the food section of the New York Times last week, an article raved about Stretch-Tite. We love this product, and it’s nice to know that the “experts” agree!

P001616L.JPGStretch-Tite is heavier & stretchier then store-bought brands, AND it’s self-sealing. This is the only plastic wrap that clings to plastic bowls. The 500 sq. ft. roll lasts more than twice as long as saran wrap, and the Stretch-Tite box is easy to handle – the cutter really works – honest! No frustration.

Like the rest of you, I’m always baking cookies & potato latkes this time of year. When I need a lot (which is always the case), I freeze them. This year I’ll be using Freeze-Tite Wrap, the close cousin to Stretch-Tite. It’s a thicker version, and it’s also clear. Freeze-Tite keeps frozen food safe for a long time without freezer burn.

Whether you’re baking & freezing, or storing left-overs, let Stretch-Tite & Freeze-Tite make your holiday prep easier! Visit our other Cooking Helpers too, at Always Free Shipping.

shipping to po box http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/07/24/shipping-to-po-box/ http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/07/24/shipping-to-po-box/#comments Tue, 24 Jul 2007 14:15:10 +0000 Jane http://site.bestsellersforhome.com/blog/2007/07/24/shipping-to-po-box/ As President of Home Trends Catalogs I felt compelled to explain our shipping methods to a PO Box address. Seems we get comments and complaints on a regular basis about how unfair it is that we discourage our PO Box customers from ordering. The truth is, we value all our customers, including the ones who have all their packages and mail delivered to a PO Box. The problem is that we have no way of tracking that package and that means we cannot provide the customer service you, our customer, have grown to respect and expect. As a compromise, we can send these packages as Priority Mail and can track them right to the customer’s door. Hope this helps clarify a frustrating situation.
