I think the title of this blog tells it all. I really would like to take a minute to discuss ordering over the internet. I know many skeptical people who do not like to order over the internet. They are usually scared of someone hacking into their account, stealing their bank information, and losing all their money. Many people shop online, but insist on calling their order in to avoid something happening, such as, the previously mentioned. Honestly, ordering online is no different than calling or sending a check. Phone lines can cross and information can be shared, and there is no security or alerts against that. Bathing Silverware Saves Time

Last night I prepared for tonight’s family Chanukah dinner. I made latkes and applesauce, and then gave my tarnished silverware a hot bath… No really!

My grandmother used to clean her set of everyday silverware in a pot of boiling water with a large piece of aluminum foil, then she’d add lots of salt. I remember being amazed as a child, watching the tarnish transfer from the forks, spoon & knives right to the tin foil – it would actually turn black!

We now have something better, and even easier… QwickSilver Metal Polishing Plate goes right into your sink. Add hot water, and about 1/4 cup of QwickSilver Activator, then the silver pieces. This is the same principle that my Grandmother used, but it cleans tarnish more thoroughly, and it leaves a polished shine. I inherited her silverware, and it looks better than ever!

QwickSilver works great for any silver pieces – bathe your gold too. I use QwickSilver for jewelry. It’s a lot less tedious than trying to polish tiny chains and intricate pieces. When bathed items are rinsed & dry, simply spray them with Hagerty Polishing Spray for tarnish protection.

Tis’ the season for celebrating – that means cooking & baking ahead of time, and having yummy leftovers afterwards. In the food section of the New York Times last week, an article raved about Stretch-Tite. We love this product, and it’s nice to know that the “experts” agree!

As President of Home Trends Catalogs I felt compelled to explain our shipping methods to a PO Box address. Seems we get comments and complaints on a regular basis about how unfair it is that we discourage our PO Box customers from ordering. The truth is, we value all our customers, including the ones who have all their packages and mail delivered to a PO Box. The problem is that we have no way of tracking that package and that means we cannot provide the customer service you, our customer, have grown to respect and expect. As a compromise, we can send these packages as Priority Mail and can track them right to the customer’s door. Hope this helps clarify a frustrating situation.
