T Shirt Troubles
March 24, 2008 on 11:15 am | In Uncategorized By Ann | No CommentsWell, I ruined my iron. I was trying to iron on a transfer. I did not realize that you are not supposed to use the steam option. And, as I have mentioned before, ironing is not my thing. I did not know until I went to make another t shirt that my iron had all this dry gunk on it (from the transfer). So, in my quest to actually make a shirt correctly this time, I used the Electric Dry Iron. No water needed! So there you have it – another use for a great product. Making t shirts is now easy and fun. It’s affordable too – you can buy tshirts at craft shops and then just make a transfer and copy it on special transfer paper (for a one-of-a-kind t shirt) or buy transfers and iron them on.

Stains, Laundry, and the Great Outdoors
March 21, 2008 on 9:16 am | In Uncategorized By Arthur | 1 CommentIf you have children then this blog post is most definitely for you. Even if you don’t, you may want to listen up. This is not groundbreaking news by any means, its just one of those truths that come up year after year, Spring after Spring.
Spring means wet grounds, fresh grass, and plenty of mud. Your kids are somehow incredible magnets towards this and end up with the most heinous stains on their clothes that you have ever seen. The Spring and Summer gear you took out for them gets inevitably ruined before the season really starts. This also goes for your typical gardener (professional or amateur) and your general lawn tinkerer.
For stains you may want to try:
And after the laundry, if you would like to save on electric costs and get that fresh out door scent, you may want to check out:
There is something to be said of having that scent of fresh air to your clothes. If you live in the northern half of the U.S. then this is a very big treat. It’s just another reason for looking forward to better weather, and a safe and happy summer.

P.S. I found this article written by Jenna Russel of the Boston Globe. In short, it’s about communities that do not allow you to hang your clothes outside to dry and legislation that may take place. Click here if you would like to read it!
Ever-Fresh Fruit & Vegtable Green Bags
March 7, 2008 on 1:07 pm | In Uncategorized By Janet | 1 Comment
Years ago, before leaving for a long weekend to Niagara Falls,, I forgot to store our fruit bowl in the fridge; Granny Smith Apples, Chiquita Bananas, and fresh Florida Oranges. Guess what we came home to??? Rotten, mushy fruit! The apples were too far gone to make my classic apple pie recipe and the bananas for too ripe for banana bread.
My kids found it first, and made a sign for the bowl, saying “Janet’s Fruit
Stand”. Well, as you can imagine, I’ve been mindful ever since. Thanks to the
recent As Seen on TV commercials, I discovered hard-to-find Green Bags, and
they have been a life saver! No joke, these reusable eco-fresh bags have
solved my problem of having fruit, lettuce and other veggies ripen long
before I can eat them up! When I come home from the regional farmer’s market, most of
the fruit and veggies go right into Green Bags. Believe it or not, they last
2-4 weeks longer than they used to.
Now that my kids are grown and on their own, I bought some for them as
well…. It’s pay-back time!
Winter is going to stick around
February 4, 2008 on 9:07 am | In Uncategorized By Arthur | 1 CommentThe groundhog saw his shadow this year. That means more winter. 6 more weeks isn’t all that bad to endure though, since here in Western New York it has been snowing since November. But there are certain things that we use in the winter that we sure don’t in the summer. It isn’t too often that we wear hats and gloves in the winter, or big boots and heavy jackets. Those things need to be stored properly and kept dry during the summer months. For that, always-free-shipping.com has excellent ideas for storage and closet space savers.
Still, that is 6 weeks away! According to that famous Pennsylvanian groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil. Since there is going to be 6 more weeks of winter, you may want to invest in a little device that can make your winter a bit better, a little less bitter, and a little bit easier. Always-free-shipping.com has a Boot and Glove Dryer. It also works great for hats, too. This dryer works perfect for busy households, especially for those who have kids who love to play in the snow. It runs off a few batteries and works like a charm.
Remember at always-free-shipping.com, there is always free shipping on everything!

Only You Can Prevent Dryer Fire
January 25, 2008 on 11:12 am | In Uncategorized By Janet | 1 CommentBad news spreads fast… This past weekend I heard about my long lost friend Joan, who’s house practically burnt down after New Years… the culprit, it turns out, was her dryer. Why does it always take some tragedy to wake me up… I figured it was time to examine my own dryer. I did my homework – checked out UL Laboritories & other sites that feature safety tips for preventing these fires.
Truth be told, my dryer is fairly old, and it has been living in tight quarters for about 20 years. Last night I used my Dryer Lint Brush to clean out the lint way under the basket… Have to admit, I hadn’t done that since spring. It was amazing ot see how much lint there was – scary! There was so much lint, that this weekend I’m going to try the Lint Vac Attachment, and do a thorough job of cleaning out about 20 years of lint build-up, since it reaches even further into the depth of the dryer.

Hagerty products
December 17, 2007 on 3:15 pm | In Products, Uncategorized By Arthur | 1 CommentHagerty has been around since 1895. Their breakthrough products were their line of silver care items. Popularity spread across the U.S. and into 60 other countries. But silver care isn’t all they care about. They also have developed an excellent line of other home care products. One of their best is the Dry Shampoo. I have a rug that my grandmother gave me. It’s an old Oriental rug that I really like but over the years it’s become soiled. I was told, due to its age, that I should not use a wet carpet cleaner, because it could deteriorate its quality. Someone said that the suction of a carpet shampooer could ruin it completely. I bought the Dry Shampoo and used it. What difference. The carpet looks brand new. I would recommend using this quality product on quality rugs.

Did you know… that despite their reputation for ruining clothing, most adult moths do not eat at all. When they do eat, moths will drink nectar. Only one species of moth eat wool, known as the Clothes moth. It is only the young larvae or caterpillars of the moths which do the damage. Luckily, cedar is a natural moth deterrent. Check out our Moth Control Products and prevent your clothing from becoming a larvae feast. ![]()
Too much stuff too little cupboard
December 13, 2007 on 12:54 pm | In Uncategorized By Arthur | 1 CommentI’m so glad that I got the cookware rack. Every time I would open the cupboard, the largest cupboard in my kitchen, it was like the running of the bulls. Pans, lids, cookie sheets, and muffin pans would bombard my kitchen floor. I was getting sick of it. So I ordered the bake and cookware lid rack, free of shipping, of course. It works wonders. Everything is in neat order. I can actually find the lids and accessories I need. It’s fantastic. I think that a lot of people have clutter problems in the kitchen, especially with those hard to store pans. Here’s the answer. It’s a problem solver and a grace saver.

P.S. It fit in my cupboard perfectly.
Ironing is required
December 12, 2007 on 9:51 am | In Products, Uncategorized By Arthur | 1 CommentI do quite a bit of travel. My friends and family all live at distances of more than 3 hours, and that’s the shortest drive! It’s difficult sometimes to keep shirts and pants from getting wrinkled during travel, especially if you have a few events to attend in one weekend. Thats where the Ironing Blanket comes in. It works terrificly. It rolls up and stores easily and can be used virtually anywhere. I have been using it to keep my clothes looking like they were just dry cleaned and pressed professionally. With so many Christmas parties and other holiday events to go to, it’s a must have for the person on the go. It would make a great gift item too!
